Work will commence in 2025 to renovate the pond
We are delighted to inform parishioners that your Millennium Green committee has secured a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund. This targeted grant will be used to clear the Green's pond of bulrushes and other detritus to restore it to its natural state, thereby ensuring it does its job more efficiently to help remove surface water from the Green.
The residue from this work will be placed adjacent the pond toward the southwest corner of the Green to allow aquatic fauna to return to the pond and overtime become a haven for both fauna and flora. This work will be undertaken in the summer of 2025 by specialists in habitat management and all aspects of restoration and maintenance of wildlife sites, especially ponds.
